Dr. Kreutzer’s specialty (Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery {AAO-HNS}) involves the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the head and neck anatomic region, including problems of the ears, nose and sinus area, and throat. The following is a basic summary of our specialty work:

Nasal and Sinus Disorders:

  1. Nasal obstruction or deformity
  2. Sinus infections; abnormal postnasal drainage
  3. Disorders of sense of smell and taste
  4. Nasal bleeding (“epistaxis”)
  5. Abnormal growths of the nose and sinus region

Ear and Balance Disorders:

  1. Hearing loss
  2. Dizziness and vertigo
  3. Ringing/buzzing/clicking in ears (“tinnitus”)
  4. Eustachian tube disorders causing ear congestion or infection

Throat and Voice:

  1. Sore throat (pain)
  2. Hoarseness and voice disorders
  3. Tonsillitis or other throat infections
  4. Laryngopharyngeal reflux  (LPR) and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)(stomach acid in throat or esophagus)
  5. Abnormal growths of the mouth and throat

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS):

  1. Snoring and disruptive breathing
  2. Surgical and Nonsurgical treatment of OSAS

Trauma:

  1. Injuries of soft tissues, cartilages and bone fractures of the nose, face, throat and ear
  2. “Acoustic” (loud noise) trauma to ear

Neoplasms (Abnormal Growths):

  1. Benign or malignant lesions of the facial or neck area (“skin cancer”)
  2. Benign or malignant growths of the mouth, lips, tongue, throat or voice box
  3. Salivary gland growths
  4. Neck growths or tumors

Plastic and Reconstructive Procedures:

  1. Rhinoplasty (reshaping or reconstruction of external  nose)
  2. Reconstruction of defects from removal of skin cancers or from other trauma
  3. “Otoplasty” (reshaping of external ear)
